Your data, plainly
Last updated June 3, 2026
The short version
Pindrop is a daily geography game. We collect the minimum needed to run it: your account, your game results, and privacy-friendly usage analytics. We don't sell your personal data. We don't run third-party ads today; if we ever do, this page will say exactly what changes — and it does already, below.
What we collect
Account data: if you sign in, your email address and the display handle you choose. Sign-in is handled by Supabase Auth (and Apple/Google if you use those providers).
Gameplay data: your guesses, scores, streaks, leaderboard standing, group membership, and which daily drops you've played. This is what makes stats and leaderboards work.
Usage analytics: aggregate, privacy-friendly event counts (e.g. a round started, a results screen viewed) via Vercel Web Analytics. These are not tied to your identity and contain no cookies that track you across other sites.
Technical basics your browser sends to any website: approximate region, device type, and similar — used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
To run the game: save your progress, compute scores, and power leaderboards, groups, and accolades.
To improve Pindrop: understand which features get used and where players get stuck, in aggregate.
To keep things working and safe: prevent abuse, debug problems, and maintain the service.
Where your data lives
Account and gameplay data is stored in Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security. The app is hosted on Vercel. If you play without signing in, your progress is kept locally in your browser and isn't sent to our servers until you create an account.
Advertising & cookies
Today, Pindrop shows no third-party advertising and sets no advertising cookies.
We may introduce advertising in the future — for example, a sponsor message on the results screen or an optional, opt-in rewarded ad. If we enable third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense, those partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and this policy will be updated before that happens to name the partners and your choices.
Where required by law (for example in the EU/UK), we will ask for your consent before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, through a consent prompt.
Your choices
You can play signed-out to avoid creating an account at all.
You can ask us to delete your account and associated data — email us and we'll take care of it.
You can clear locally stored progress any time by clearing your browser's site data for Pindrop.
Children
Pindrop is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes & contact
